Harbhajan verdict on Monday

Harbhajan Singh and Sreesanth both met the BCCI appointed commissioner Mr. Nanavati today at Ahmedabad and gave their statements. Mr Nanavati is conducting the probe into the slapgate incident.

Mr. Nanavati will now review their statements and is expected to submit his report to the BCCI President Mr. Sharad Pawar on Monday.

The BCCI will take the final decision on the punishment meted out to Harbhajan, but they will do so only after Mr.Nanavati submits his report to them.

While there is little doubt that Harbhajan Singh will be awarded some punishment, one will have to wait to see what consequences the off-spinner will face in terms of further bans or suspensions. It is learned that Harbhajan Singh was in conference with Mr. Nanavati for over an hour while Sreesanth’s session lasted for about half an hour.

Harbhajan has apologized for his actions and had previously asked the BCCI to give him ‘one final chance’. Harbhajan has already been banned for the rest of the IPL matches (11 or more, if Mumbai progresses beyond the league stage) by the BCCI for allegedly slapping Sreesanth after a match.

  1. I know both of them as aggressive players, but as bajji comes out as a person like this, Im more and more starting to believe the racial allegations against him in Australia.

  2. Both are aggressive but this incident is total different. that is hitting other player!!!!. now he got 5 one day ban only. I thought he will get at least 10 one day or 5 test ban..
But he got a final warning also. It is for all other players also.
